১. Subject-Verb Agreement (কর্তা ও ক্রিয়ার সঙ্গতি)

নিয়ম ১ (And দিয়ে যুক্ত Subject): And দিয়ে দুই বা ততোধিক Noun/Pronoun যুক্ত হলে Subject-টি Plural হয়, তাই Verb-ও Plural হবে।
❌ Incorrect: Joy and Ayan is going to school.
✔ Correct: Joy and Ayan are going to school.

নিয়ম ২ (মূল Word অনুযায়ী Verb): Preposition-এর আগের মূল Subject একক (Singular) হলে Verb-ও Singular হবে; মূল Subject বহুবচন (Plural) হলে Verb-ও Plural হবে।
❌ Incorrect: The color of the mangoes are yellow.
✔ Correct: The color of the mangoes is yellow.
❌ Incorrect: There are a playground near our house.
✔ Correct: There is a playground near our house.

নিয়ম ৩ (Or / Nor দিয়ে যুক্ত Subject): Or, Nor, Neither...nor, Either...or থাকলে সর্বশেষের Subject অনুযায়ী Verb বসে।
❌ Incorrect: Neither my friends nor my brother are coming.
✔ Correct: Neither my friends nor my brother is coming.

নিয়ম ৪ (Person সাজানোর ক্রম):
• সাধারণ বাক্যে ক্রম: 2nd Person + 3rd Person + 1st Person (231)।
❌ Incorrect: I, you and Tanvir completed the task.
✔ Correct: You, Tanvir and I completed the task.
• দোষ স্বীকার বোঝালে ক্রম: 1st Person + 2nd Person + 3rd Person (123)।
❌ Incorrect: You, Tanvir and I are guilty.
✔ Correct: I, you and Tanvir are guilty.
• Possessive Case-এর ক্ষেত্র: Subject একাধিক থাকলে Possessive pronoun-টি ১ম Subject বা সার্বিক রূপ অনুযায়ী বসে।
❌ Incorrect: You and I have finished your project.
✔ Correct: You and I have finished our project.

নিয়ম ৫ (Every / Each / One of the ইত্যাদি): Every, Each, No, More than one, One of the, Each of the, Either of the, Neither of the-এর পর Noun/Pronoun Plural হলেও Verb সবসময় Singular হয়।
❌ Incorrect: One of my teachers are very strict.
✔ Correct: One of my teachers is very strict.
❌ Incorrect: Each boy and girl have received a gift.
✔ Correct: Each boy and girl has received a gift.

নিয়ম ৬ (দূরত্ব, পরিমাপ, সময় ও টাকা): কোনো কিছু দ্বারা নির্দিষ্ট দূরত্ব, সময়, ওজন বা পরিমাণ বোঝালে Plural দেখালেও Verb Singular হয়।
❌ Incorrect: Ten kilometers are a long way to walk.
✔ Correct: Ten kilometers is a long way to walk.

নিয়ম ৭ (Infinitive / Gerund / Clause): Infinitive, Gerund বা Clause যদি Subject হিসেবে থাকে, তবে তাকে 3rd Person Singular ধরে Verb Singular লিখতে হয়।
❌ Incorrect: What you said are true.
✔ Correct: What you said is true.

নিয়ম ৮ (And যুক্ত পদ বা উপাধি): And দিয়ে যুক্ত দুই পদে আলাদা ব্যক্তি বোঝালে দুটোর আগেই Article বসে এবং Verb Plural হয়। কিন্তু একই ব্যক্তি বোঝালে শুধু ১ম পদের আগে Article বসে এবং Verb Singular হয়।
👥 আলাদা ব্যক্তি: The Headmaster and the President were present.
👤 একই ব্যক্তি: The Headmaster and Secretary of the school was present.

নিয়ম ৯ (As well as / Along with / Together with): এগুলো দিয়ে দুটি Noun/Pronoun যুক্ত হলে প্রথম Subject অনুযায়ী Verb বসে।
❌ Incorrect: Nila as well as her classmates are coming.
✔ Correct: Nila as well as her classmates is coming.

নিয়ম ১০ (Many a/an বনাম Many): Many a/an-এর পর Noun ও Verb দুটিই Singular হয়। কিন্তু শুধু Many-র পর Noun ও Verb দুটিই Plural হয়।
❌ Incorrect: Many a students were absent.
✔ Correct: Many a student was absent.

নিয়ম ১১ (Adjective-এর পূর্বে The): Adjective-এর পূর্বে The বসালে তা পুরো শ্রেণী বা জাতি (Plural) বোঝায়, তাই Verb-ও Plural হবে।
❌ Incorrect: The rich is not always happy.
✔ Correct: The rich are not always happy.

নিয়ম ১২ (একই বস্তু বা ভাব বোঝালে): And দিয়ে যুক্ত দুটি Noun যদি একটিই খাবারের পদ বা একক ভাব প্রকাশ করে, তবে Verb Singular হয়।
❌ Incorrect: Rice and curry are my daily lunch.
✔ Correct: Rice and curry is my daily lunch.

নিয়ম ১৩ (Countable vs Uncountable Noun-এর পর Verb): A few, All, Both, Some, Many-এর পর Countable Noun থাকলে Verb Plural হয়। কিন্তু Uncountable Noun-এর পর Verb সবসময় Singular হয়।
❌ Incorrect: A little milk are left in the glass.
✔ Correct: A little milk is left in the glass.

নিয়ম ১৪ (Collective Noun): Collective Noun (যেমন: Jury, Committee) সাধারণত একটি দল বোঝায় বলে Verb Singular হয়। তবে মতামত ভিন্ন হলে বা বিভক্তি বোঝালে Verb Plural হয়।
❌ Incorrect: The committee are unanimous in its decision.
✔ Correct: The committee is unanimous in its decision.

নিয়ম ১৫ (Relative Pronoun-এর পর Verb): Relative Pronoun (who, which, that)-এর পর Verb-টি তার ঠিক আগের শব্দ (Antecedent) অনুযায়ী বসে।
❌ Incorrect: It is I who is responsible.
✔ Correct: It is I who am responsible.
